LEWISTON – To raise money to prevent lung cancer, Maine Indoor Air Quality Council held its 4th Annual Indoor Insanity 5K. It’s a fundraiser to pay for the installation of radon mitigation systems in low-income Maine households.

Radon is a colorless and odorless gas that comes from the ground and can get trapped in homes and well waters. Radon is the number one cause of lung cancer in nonsmokers and there are no warning signs. The only way to know is to test it, but for some, it can be too expensive.”
