About this training…

This 120-minute webinar provides the necessary details of sizing local and dwelling-unit ventilation for new dwellings based on ASHRAE 62.2-2019, Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Residential Buildings. The significant requirements of the 62.2 standard are addressed and compliance options are discussed, both for single-family detached dwellings and dwellings in multifamily buildings. Examples are explained using the free 62.2-2019 web application maintained by the Pacific Northwest National (PNNL/RED tools). An overview of ventilation equipment and control options is included.

Who should attend: Code enforcement officials, design/build contractors, building designers and specifiers, building trade professionals, construction supervisors, product suppliers, energy professionals, ventilation installers, third-party inspectors.

After attending this training, participants will…

Program Presenter:

Rick Karg of Bethel, Maine, is the president of Residential Energy Dynamics (RED). He has been a member of the ASHRAE 62.2 technical committee since 2007, was the author of the 62.2-2016 User’s Manual and the author of the ASHRAE Learning Institute’s residential ventilation training. Rick is also the past chair of the ASHRAE Residential Buildings Committee. He served as a charter member of the Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code Board from 2008 to 2013 and received the Phillip C. Hastings award from Efficiency Maine in 2015.
