This presentation is designed to assist in understanding what to expect from a professional restoration company by reviewing industry standards applicable towards water damage restoration, mold remediation along with fire and smoke damage restoration practices.

About the Presenter:

Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Orono in 1978.  Scott was a branch manager for Servpro of Portland from June 1978 to January 1979.  Scott became owner of the franchise in 1979 and operated its day to day business operations until February of 2004.  Scott stayed on with Servpro as the Distributor/Trainer for the State of Maine, providing product and equipment distribution, consulting services, employee training and marketing support to the 9 Servpro franchises in Maine and continues in that role today.  Scott was awarded the national Distributor/Trainer of the Year award for 2010.

Scott has received certifications in; Water Damage Restoration, Applied Structural Drying and Smoke Damage Restoration all through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, Restoration and Certification (IICRC).  Scott also is a certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator and is a certified  EPA Lead Safe RRP technician.  Scott also is a licensed property and casualty insurance producer in Maine and maintains the above certifications and licensing through continuing education courses.

Scott is an approved instructor for continuing education for the Maine Bureau of Insurance and the Maine Real Estate Commission.  Scott is approved to teach 9 classes to insurance agents and 1 class to real estate agents.

Scott is past president of the Southern Maine Claims Association and continues to be a member of the SMCA.  He is also a member of the Educational Plant Maintenance Association and the Maine Coalition of Home Inspection Professionals.
