The Maine Indoor Air Quality Council is working on an EPA-grant funded project to educate key audiences about our recently developed guidance document: Recommendation for Addressing Mold & Moisture in Rental Properties.
The Council has developed a presentation that will be used to train our target audiences on this key concepts in the guidance document: basic mold facts, effect of mold on health, strategies for proper cleanup/repair, and our recommendations for how/when landlords and tenants should communicate when mold and moisture problems occur.
We are looking for volunteers to present for the following groups:
Landlords
Tenants
Code Officials
Public Health Professionals
Legal Advocates (for both landlords and tenants)
Speakers must have a basic understanding of mold in buildings, with sufficient knowledge to answer basic questions as they occur. Knowledge of how to address IAQ problems generally is recommended but not required. Speakers must be willing to be trained in the content, and the specific concerns/needs of the individual target audiences.
Training sessions will be held between May and September, 2020. Dates, times, and locations will vary.
The Maine Indoor Air Quality Council is unable to pay presenters, but we can reimburse presenters for their travel expenses (mileage, tolls, and parking).
